On December 19, 2022, Ms. Beatrice Brown transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord. Beatrice was born on July 11, 1928, in McCormick, South Carolina to the late Martha and Charlie Brown. She attended the public school system in Moriah, South Carolina.

Beatrice accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in 1939. Beatrice relocated to Washington, DC in the summer of 1948, where she began to worship at New Samaritan Baptist Church. She joined Saint Mark Baptist Church where she attended until she joined New Bethel Baptist Church in 1970. There she joined her two favorite ministries, Missionary and Senior Choir. She was an active member until her health began to deteriorate in 2016.

Beatrice worked at Guest Services from 1954 to 2004 for over 50 years of dedicated services, leaving an astounding impact on her peers. Her kindness and willingness to assist others was a natural act, and she took pride in position at Guest Services, which ended in retirement in 2004.

Beatrice had a loving heart. She took care of her mother and father and also helped raise her nephew Joseph and two nieces Vornelle and JoAnn. Beatrice was very fashionable by wearing various styles of wigs, dresses, suits, hats and the stylish diamond studs eyeglasses to match her outfits.

She loved to attend gospel concerts such as James Cleveland, Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Staple Singers and The Caravans. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and reading the Bible with her favorite scripture being Psalm 27.

She was very active and held office with the Eastern Star. She became the Worthy Matron in Chapter One, Marshall, Emirates, the Household of Ruth, the Elks, and The Tents of Order.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three devoted nephews Joseph Allen, Joshua Goodwin Jr. (Karen), Kelvin "Timmy" Christian, two devoted nieces Vornelle Brown-Holmes (Nestor), JoAnn Brown-Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters Channie Brown, Nellie Christian, Essie Goodwin, Alma Brown, Mary Allen, and three brothers Charles Brown, Claude Brown, Emmanuel Brown, and three nephews Claude "Kim" Christian, Jeffery Goodwin, and Orlando Brown, Sr. who are waiting to greet her at heaven's door.
