Derek Douglas Scott passed away on October 17, 2024.  He was the son of the late Douglas Scott and Cleo (Poindexter) Scott.  He attended McKinley Tech High School and furthered his education  at Clearfield Job Corps Center in Clearfield, Utah.  He was a loyal and dedicated employee for many years at Giant grocery store.  Derek was laid back and enjoyed watching sports.  He was a diehard Giants fan.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Derek leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Ebony Scott (Greensboro, NC) and Shanell Bruce (Norfolk, VA); his niece Nicole Lassiter (Cedric) of Clinton, MD; his nephew Derek Lewis of Maryland; ten grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
