Edna Lee Gordon was born on March 15, 1952, in Sylvania, Georgia, to the late Charlie Gordon and Ada Gordon. She departed this life surrounded by love and cherished memories.

Edna spent her early years in Sylvania, Georgia, where she was raised and formed the foundation of her strong and hardworking spirit. In 1968, she relocated to Washington, D.C., where she attended DC Public Schools and later built her life and career.

Known as a true handywoman, Edna took pride in working with her hands and was never afraid of hard work. She was employed in housekeeping at several hotels before beginning a long and dedicated career with the George Hyman Construction Company, where she worked for over ten years. Her work ethic, determination, and independence were traits admired by all who knew her.

Edna also had a joyful side—she was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and supported her team with unwavering loyalty.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Rodney Gordon; her brother, John Thomas Jr.; and her sisters, Rosa Gardener, Merlina Reed, Rosemary Thomas, Charlie Mae Gordon, and Dora Shuler.

Edna leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Vanessa Gordon; her son, Ravon Gordon; six grandchildren, Marrice Gordon, Tishjuan Gordon, Marcel Gordon, Damion Hudson, Rodney Gordon Jr., Ronnice Twyman, and Shantay Cottoms, Gloria Dreher: and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Dominique Keels; cousins; and friends. She will be fondly remembered by her special friend, Tyieast Gross, and all whose lives she touched.

Edna Lee Gordon will be remembered for her strength, her hardworking nature, her love for family, and the lasting impact she made on everyone who knew her.
