Gladys Beatrice Barnes, 88 years old, went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Gladys was born in Charles County, MD on, April 19, 1933, to the late Rubin Dorsey and Carrie Dorsey. Gladys grew up surrounded by a large family, she had 12 brothers and sisters. Gladys was a dedicated United States Postal Worker for over 35 years. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, sewing, and having dinner with family and friends. Her children were proud to call her "ma" and grandchildren were proud to call her "nana", Gladys's greatest love was her family. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents Rubin and Carrie Dorsey, children Basil Clinton Dorsey and Catherine JoAnn Dorsey, grandchild Andre Tyrone Dorsey, siblings Arthur Dorsey, Elizabeth Dorsey, Joseph "Boy" Dorsey, John "Bubba" Dorsey, Sarah "Puddin" Gross, Mary Agnes Cole, Helen Washington, Alfred "Joe Louis" Dorsey, and Joseph Cecil Dorsey. Gladys is survived by her two children Donnie and Sandra Dorsey, daughter-in-law Angela Dorsey and son-in-law Abderrahiam Kadary. Her five grandchildren Marquell Dorsey, D.J. Dorsey, Nikeema Kadary, Amber Dorsey, Emanuel Dorsey, and four great-grandchildren. Her loving sisters, Annie Spears, Lillie House, Catherine Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, who will all in unity strive to honor her memory by living their life to the fullest. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations may be made to Food & Friends Food & Friends | Delivering hope, one meal at a time, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation BCRF | Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the Dementia Society of America Dementia Society of America® in honor of Gladys Beatrice Barnes.
