Robert Lee
Pitts Iii
Jun 15, 1987 — Aug 19, 2023
Robert (AKA) Rob, was born on June 15, 1987, to Carmen Hubbard and the late Robert Lee Pitts, Jr. He attended Alexandria, VA public schools and Prince George's County, MD public schools. He was christened and introduced to Christ at the Church of the Rapture (formerly known as Free Evangelist Church) and did accept Christ as his personal savior.
Rob was predominately raised by his stepdad, Samuel Baker who entered his life at the tender age of 2 and remained in his life until his passing. Rob had a passion for music, poetry, and cooking, and as a child Rob loved to read and loved playing video games with friends and family.
Rob had a big heart of gold and loved people. He also loved helping people and wanted to help anyone that he could that he saw was in need. On one occasion, Rob brought one of his schoolmates home from school that was experiencing some difficulties at home. He gingerly asked if his classmate could stay with us (with the consent of his mother) and that request lasted for an entire week. His classmate enjoyed his stay so much with the family that he did not want to return to his home.
Rob had a passion for cooking and worked as a waiter for several restaurant establishments in the DMV. He had an amazing memory and could remember the smallest of details when placing orders for restaurant patrons and knew the available entrees and food items on the menus. Rob took his occupation of waitering very seriously and provided exceptional customer service. Rob's attention to detail and polite manner gained him the attention of some well-to-do regulars that would specifically ask for him during their visit to the restaurant and would tip him very well.
He also took on the responsibility of being the caregiver for his immediate family and wanted to ensure that they were eating well and recuperating as best as they could.
After a brief illness, Rob passed away on August 19, 2023, in the comfort of his home.
Rob leaves to cherish his memory his mother Carmen Hubbard; stepdad Samuel Baker; grandfather Leciel Hubbard; brother Jason Hubbard; sisters Chanelle Baker and Nakia Hayes (Rodney); loving godmother Dorothy Beaty; cousin/brother Evan Lisane; special friend Michael Drayton, Jr. and a host of cousins, family members and friends.
